Bunzl BCSS Elevate 2019 took place on Tuesday 8th October in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport.
As a featured supplier to the ICCA, Bunzl BCSS were invited to host a mini- exhibition and a series of workshops alongside the ICCA’s annual AGM.

AI Predictive Productivity with Roger Leyden, International Channel Manager at HansaWorld.
Roger discussed ho AI automation and predictive capabilities will transform the Facilities Management Industry from the point of view of the customer experience, but also as an effective management tool. He also demonstrated their latest AI Innovation ‘Anna’ an AI cognitive TalkBot.
Workplace Wellness in Ireland with Brian Crooke, Founder of Office Workers Health.
Brian empowers Irish employers and employees to make their workplaces healthier places to be. He has also founded the Workplace Wellness Ireland community to bring together those promoting wellness in Irish workplaces with those seeking to implement programmes and initiatives in their ow businesses.
Sustainability, The Circular Economy with Diana Geraghty, Sustainability Lead for Bunzl Ireland.
Diana leads the sustainability and CSR work for the Bunzl businesses in Ireland. Her goal is to drive sustainable change and help Bunzl and our customers to improve their environmental footprint by providing sustainability advice and innovative solutions to support our customers’ own sustainability goals.
Exhibitors on the day were invited to showcase innovative products that were relevant to the themes of the day. These included
Kimberly Clark have recently released their sustainability 2022 goals and have already delivered on their promises for energy efficiency, sourcing a sustainable supply chain, reducing their natural forest footprint in tissue production and an impressive waste and recycling program. On the day they featured a Virtual Reality Washroom experience which hugely impressed users as it brought them on a virtual journey through an ideal washroom experience.
Diversey brought along their UV disinfection technology with the Moonbeam and Skybox, SKY gives users confidence with fast, effective, responsible phone and tablet disinfection whereas MoonBeam™3 delivers powerful UVC light to provide fast, on-demand broad area disinfection of high-touch surfaces in as little as 3 minute and is both portable and powerful. SC Johnson Professional featured the new Foam Soap experience, a new washroom foam soap range which is fully biodegradable and formulated with one of the mildest preservatives making them suitable for all ages. All the products in this range carry the EU Ecolabel which is a label of environmental excellence that is awarded to products and services meeting the highest environmental standards throughout their life-cycle: from raw material extraction, to production, distribution and disposal. Deb also showcased InstantFoam the Alcohol Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer, it kills up to 99.99% of many common germs in 30 seconds.
Thorn Environmental Ltd. launched their new innovative Earth2Earth range of refuse sacks, bin-liners and packaging films made from sugarcane, bio-based, carbon captured 100% Recyclable products. These products are identical to fossil fuel-based plastic ones but are completely sustainable and renewable. Manufactured using high-performance HDPE produced from plant-based ethylene that captures carbon. Indistinguishable from fossil fuel-based plastic and can be 100% recycled with normal fossil fuel-based plastic.
Craftex Innovative Cleaning Systems brought us Purex® a chemical free cleaning solution for all daily cleaning tasks on water washable surfaces. Tap water is passed through seven stages of unique micro-filtration to remove the following elements: chlorine, natural minerals and grit and other inorganic compounds such as calcium. The final stages of filtration create the Purex® product. The composition of the Purex® is instable and when passed over surfaces, and therefore it absorbs dirt to gain stability. Also in attendance were Lakeland Europe, with their “Wellness at work” message which is centered around keeping people as safe as possible in hazardous industries, by providing the highest quality fabrics and onsite training to “Protect Your People”. With a range of safetywear that are made from oil derivative products and plastics. Lakeland embody a strong sustainability message around people, offices and factories with all paper and cardboard recycled and electric fork lift trucks in all warehouses. Looking to the future they are planning to reduce their carbon footprint further with Biodegradable Packaging, hybrid cars and solar powered offices.
Rubbermaid featured an array of Recycling Bins and Containers to encourage environmentally conscious businesses and organizations to actively manage and recycle their waste. By encouraging people to recycle, Rubbermaid are also helping businesses to make a positive statement about their values. Their selection of recycling bins include under counter containers, colourful recycling containers and all-in-one recycling stations (Manufactured using a degree of post-consumer recycled resin) with labeled openings for Multiple recycling streams.
SAP brought along some stunning Living Wall instillation’s with Living Walls or Eco Walls becoming increasingly more popular not only amongst architects and designers, but are also now becoming very popular with businesses looking to improve their green credentials. They can be fully customised for company’s that would like to display logos in a unique setting, or choose colours to tie in with seasonal trends. Their versatility means that living walls can be designed for interior or exterior use in places such as hotels, retail spaces, office blocks, hospitals, schools and private homes. Their benefits include improved air quality in a building, great insulation properties and urban biodiversity.
